Supermoon Solstice_9999 - Brereton's Farm B&B
I had a pretty fruitless moon rise on top the Long Mynd. Managed some beautiful skies and Pole Cottage images but the silver lady herself had eluded me much to my frustration.

I was driving along Briar Ridge (the name we decided to call our publishing company, thanks to Hilary Jane Jones for misreading her map). I came to the place I normally stop or at least slow right down to take a peek over the gate, at the view across the valley towards Callow Hill and the surrounding Valleys.

Imagine my delight on seeing the clouds part and there she was. No time to get the tripod out the boot, the wind was already whirling more clouds into her light path. I turned the car off climbed up on the sill and driver's seat precariously braced myself against the roof and went for it!

Three shots at varying focal lengths on the zoom lens, that was it! The clouds came in and she was gone pretty much for the rest of the night.

Thanks to Royston James whose talent never ceases to amaze me. Hopefully, a household name when he finally gets round to publishing his own books and poetry.

Solstice Moon

A flash of white to my delight
A glisten across the wing

A shadow falls the darkness calls
What will the solstice moon bring

Upon the meadows with all their fellows
The Wiccan begin to sing

Of summer sights and warmest nights
The maidens dance and fling

A beautiful sight an owl of white
Hoots at the dragon’s ring
